Creating Together

“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” - Pablo Picasso

My latest collection is inspired by my family and the many creatives within it….and one (now six year) old creative in particular!

My daughter loves painting - both for herself and with me. She is full of energy and enthusiasm in everything she does. This is a huge inspiration for me and I have loved co-creating art with her. Kenzie loves painting swift loose marks and LOVES pink. (I’ve given up on trying to curb this infatuation.) Pink and purple with a touch of ‘teal’ are her signature colours when she sets the pallet. Often we will paint several layers of a painting together and watch as it develops.

Artists are abundant in my whanau and it is from this wealth of creativity that I draw much inspiration and motivation.
